  • When can families and pets return to serviced areas?
After a service, Bis-Man Outdoor Services advises customers to allow the application to dry before families and pets resume enjoying their lawns. A lawn will normally be dry 1-2 hours after treatment, but low temperatures, high humidity, low wind and cloudy conditions will increase the amount of time needed for the treatment to dry.
  • How often / how high should I mow my lawn?
The best guide for mowing frequency is the growth of your grass. When lawns are actively growing it may require mowing more than once weekly. Plan to cut less than one-third of the grass blade in one mowing. Using sharp blades is also very important. Our suggested mowing height is no shorter than 3" but during the peak of the summer up to 4" is advisable. If you are wondering what height your cutting at it is as simple as sticking a ruler on a flat firm part of your yard and measuring the grass length after cutting. Roots are what make a healthy lawn and the longer the blade of grass the longer and healthier the roots.
  • What are some lawn watering tips?
Your lawn usually requires 1-2” of water per week, depending on factors like soil type, temperature, and humidity. We recommend long, infrequent watering (1-2 times per week). Your soil should be moist to a depth of 6-12” after a watering. For best results water early in the morning. At midday, more water evaporates than goes into the soil. Evening watering invites trouble because plants that stay wet overnight can be more prone to developing certain diseases that thrive in moist conditions. We do offer irrigation system audits to diagnose trouble areas and get the most out of your irrigation system
  • How often are applications made?
Generally, applications are applied every 4-6 weeks.

You should water your lawn after an application. Wait at least 4 hours after we have applied to allow the weed control to achieve best results. If it doesn't rain within 24 hours after our visit, please water your lawn to help achieve optimal results from our lawn application.
  • When should I expect to see results?

As your specialist spends more time working on your lawn, your lawn’s appearance will continue to improve. Every lawn and its challenges are unique, and we will provide progress updates and special instructions for your lawn at each service visit.
  • What do I need to do to prepare for my first service?

  • Does a healthy lawn really benefit the enviroment?
Healthy, properly maintained lawns provide significant benefits to the environment and community. Families can take pride in the fact that a healthy, properly cared for lawn is part of a solution for a healthy planet. Benefits of a healthy lawn include Erosion Control & Runoff Prevention, Water Purification, Air Purification, and Oxygen Generation.
  • I signed up for a weed and feed program but there are weeds in my flower beds / driveway?
Our weed and feed program only covers your lawn for weed control, we do offer a beds and hard surfaces package that covers everything but your lawn for weed control.
  • Why are there are still weeds coming up in my lawn after my first application?
Weed control is a process, especially for 1st year customers, there are millions of weed seeds in an average yard (especially if we haven't been treating in prior years) When we come apply weed control it only effects the weeds that are actively growing. We eliminate all of those and a week or two later new weeds are coming out of their shell.
